Welcome to Highwood, a luxury self-catering holiday cottage on the stunning South West Coast of Cornwall. Situated on the scenic coastal path above Looe, Highwood offers spectacular sea views towards Looe Island and easy access to some of Cornwall's best beaches and coastal walks.
This spacious and well-equipped holiday home comfortably sleeps up to six guests across three bedrooms, making it ideal for family breaks or group getaways. Inside you'll find a large living room with balcony access and sea views, a fully-equipped kitchen/diner leading to the sun deck, and comfortable living spaces designed for relaxation after a day exploring Cornwall's countryside and beaches.
Outdoors, the sun deck and lawned garden with BBQ and patio furniture are perfect for al-fresco dining, while the local sandy beaches at Plaidy and Millendreath are just a short walk away. The picturesque harbour town of Looe, with restaurants, pubs, and traditional inns, is only a 10-minute drive. Highwood is located on the South West Coast Path near to Looe. It enjoys beautiful views along the coast to Looe Bay, and across to Looe Island. It is comfortable and well-equipped, and sleeps up to six, in three bedrooms.
Upstairs, there is a bright triple aspect living room, designed to make the most of the sea views, with patio doors leading to a balcony with table and chairs - a perfect place to relax with a drink at the end of the day.
There is a 50" Smart TV, TV recorder, DVD player and Bluetooth soundbar. Also upstairs is the master bedroom, with king sized bed and an ensuite shower room with WC.
Highwood is ideal for families. Downstairs there is a double bedroom with king sized bed, a twin-bedded room, Snug with sofa, Smart TV and range of children's toys. Travel cot and highchair provided. There is a family bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC. .
The spacious triple aspect kitchen/diner is equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A tumble dryer is also provided. The kitchen is well equipped with an ample provision of crockery, glasses, pans and kitchen utensils - everything you need to make it a perfect home from home. There is also a TV and a radio/CD player.
From the dining area, French Doors open onto a sun deck, which wraps around two sides of the house and catches the sun. There is a set of outdoor dining furniture with a parasol, and also some sun loungers and reclining chairs. From the deck, some steps lead down to a small lawned area with brick BBQ. .
There is off-street parking for up to three cars, and visitors have access to a garage for securely storing bicycles, prams, golf clubs and similar items. .
The accommodation is non-smoking, and we do not accept pets.
Highwood - Holidays in Looe
Highwood is located on the South West coast path, just along the coast from Looe. It is possible to walk along the coast path into Looe in about 20 -25 minutes. Alternatively, it is about a 10 minute drive. The house is located on a hill between two beaches. Plaidy beach, with its rock pools is just five minutes walk away. In the opposite direction, the beach at Millendreath with its sands, beach café and bar, is also five minutes. It is possible to hire kayaks and body boards during the summer season.
Looe itself is a picturesque fishing town with a large sandy beach. There are many excellent restaurants, traditional inns, cafés and shops. Fishing for crabs from the quayside is always popular with children, and it is possible to take fishing trips and boat trips around the island. Looe Golf Club is located just outside the town. The Looe Valley railway line follows the river from Looe to Liskeard, where is connects with the mainline service.
